I see Patterns in Things

Matthew Zaidan is a self-taught, multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Amherstburg, Ontario. Born in Montreal to a multiethnic and multicultural family, Matthew draws inspiration and unique perspectives from an uncommon and diverse background. His work fluctuates between the abstract and the surreal, embracing both chaos and meticulous detail. His self-directed journey into art has allowed him to develop an experimental and fluid approach. He likes to envision each artwork as an independent lifeform, constantly morphing, adapting, and evolving to suit its environment, and allowing each viewer to engage their own imagination and form their own personal connections.
Matthew is a member of the board of directors at the Gibson Gallery, guiding the gallery's marketing and communications. He is also an organizing member of Amherstburg's Local Collective Art Project, planning and marketing exhibitions and events with a diverse and talented group of artists.
