I see Patterns in Things

Matthew Zaidan is a self-taught, multidisciplinary artist based in Amherstburg, Ontario. Born in Montreal to a multiethnic and multicultural family, Matthew draws inspiration and unique perspectives from an uncommon and diverse background. His work fluctuates between the abstract and the surreal, embracing both chaos and meticulous detail. His self-directed journey into art has allowed him to develop an experimental and fluid approach. He likes to envision each artwork as an independent lifeform, constantly morphing, adapting, and evolving to suit its
environment, and allowing each viewer to engage their own imagination and form their own personal connections.

Matthew is a graphic designer at Amherstburg’s River Town Times as well as a freelance designer and commission based artist. He is a member of the board of directors at the Gibson Gallery with his focus on marketing and exhibitions.
