Its attention was focused on the far horizon, where a vast world of undiscovered wonders and perils lay. It seemed to be thinking on the intricacies of the cosmos, and I could almost feel the weight of its thought.

The alien symbiote appeared unconcerned by everything, as if it were a part of this foreign universe and had experienced it all before. Its presence was unsettling and consoling at the same time, as if it were a light of hope in this forbidding and unforgiving world.
