When we colonize other worlds, will we have learned from the mistakes that got us there in the first place? 

Humanity's desire to colonise other planets blazed like a dying star in the void of space. But, they carried a gloom that was buried deep inside with them as they stepped into the unknown. The planets' once-peaceful surfaces began to shake violently with each step they made as they were turned into a wasteland of devastation. Terraforming changed to terror forming as humans left a path of ruin in their wake, powerless to escape the cycle of carnage they had wreaked upon themselves. They therefore carried on their eternal trek while leaving nothing but echoes of the terror that gripped them.
